Description
This Special Education Curriculum for Elementary Math contains 24 elementary 3rd -5th grade math resources. It was developed for students who will be taking alternate assessments in special education settings.
These units were created using the extended state standards for students who:
- Have an intellectual disability
- Are early or non-readers
- Lack prerequisite skills
- Benefit from picture support
- take alternative assessments
- elementary school
Each unit is supported by a book (PowerPoint) that teaches the necessary information and group and individual activities.
The similar format will help reduce students’ anxiety, as the activities will be familiar to them. This will allow them to focus more on the content than on how to complete the activity.

This special education math curriculum covers 40 weeks of instruction.
In addition, many of these early math activities include differentiation suggestions and presentation options.
This 3-5 Math curriculum includes print and digital versions of the activities. Each unit has a differentiated set of Google slides. A movie version of the book is also included.

Each curriculum is made up of a set of resources. For example, The Division Unit is considered one resource.
Each resource in the curriculum:
- Is intended to be used in one classroom
- Can be used for multiple years in the same classroom
